Shamita Shetty recently took to social media to voice her frustration on Indigo Airlines.She was travelling from Jaipur to Chandigarh on an Indigo Airline to attend an event,where her bags were offloaded by the airlines because of over weight issues.Her concern was she was not informed or the airlines didn’t reach out to her prior to offloading her bags.Shamita’s and her hair-dresser bags were offloaded by the airlines and she expressed her anger on how Indigo is making such decisions without having a word with their passengers.
After landing on Chandigarh,she inquired about her bags where Shamita was told to wait for the next flight, which was scheduled to arrive at 10:30, but by that time, their event would be over, so they wouldn’t even get their bags on time.
What did Shamita say in the video?
Sharing the video on her X handle, she wrote, “Pardon my French but Indigo airline you are a pretty s*** airline to fly on! And the ground staff is totally useless! Think twice before flying on this airline! @IndiGo6E #indigo a total no no!”
In the video on Instagram, she said, “I am stuck at the Chandigarh airport. I have travelled from Jaipur to Chandigarh on an Indigo airline and my bags were just offloaded without informing me. I have come here for an event. My hairdresser’s bag and my bag were just offloaded because of some weight issues. Am I not supposed to be informed before something like this is done?”
She further added, “So Indigo can just take the carte blanche of doing something like this without informing me and expect me to wait for their next flight to land in Chandigarh which is about 10.30 pm, after my event is over. I’ve come here for an event like I said. The ground staff doesn’t know what to do or how to help us.”

Indigo Airlines reacted to the video shared by Shamita and mentioned that they tried contacting her on the registered number before offloading the bags.The number was not reachable and thereby they offloaded the bags without having a conversation.
Indigo said, “Ms Shetty, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and would like to address the matter. We tried to contact you on the registered number, but the calls went unanswered. Could you please DM us an alternate contact number and a convenient time for us to reach out. ~Team IndiGo.”
Shamita did responded to Indigo’s tweet and said,“ U CANNOT OFFLOAD A BAG WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH THE PASSENGER! It’s just plain wrong! We pay for our tickets ul r not flying us for free its wrong what you did not just to me but 8 other ppl! Clearly ul don’t feel ul are answerable for your actions ..to anyone !!”
In the second Instagram video, Shamita playfully mocks Indigo while chatting with her hairdresser. She humorously complains, “I have no outfit for the event today! Hey, Chandigarh designers, if you’re watching, please reach out to Kushal because my bags got offloaded!”
In the third video on her story, Shamita is in the hallway on her way to the event. When asked how her day has been, she playfully responds that it’s been exhausting, jokingly mentioning that it’s all because her bags were offloaded.
