Four Indian soldiers including an officer were shot dead during an encounter with terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on 15th July, Monday.
The Indian soldiers that sacrificed their lives were: Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra and Sepoy Ajay.
General Upendra Dwivedi, chief of the entire army staff and all Indian Army gave their heartfelt condolences to the 4 army soldiers who lost their lives in an encounter with the terrorists through a post on X.
According to officials, The Indian army and the Jammu & Kashmir police were placed in Doda based on specific information of terrorists being there. According to reports, atleast 5 soldiers were critically injured in the heavy gunfight.
According to reports, our Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had communicated with General Dwivedi and talked about the on ground situation and the operation taking place in Doda.
Mr. Singh stated that he was extremely saddened by the loss of the soldiers and his heart goes out to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives. He also said that the Nation is there with the families and the counter operations are still in process with the commitment of eliminating all terrorism and making Jammu and Kashmir a region of peace and order.
This attack stands to be the second major attack in a period of just one week. 5 soldiers were killed during a firefight in Kathua last week.
The terrorist attacked on the trucks carrying 12 troops which were just around 500 meters apart, with grenades and bullets.
After the attack. The Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi stated that BJP was responsible for whatever happened as they included wrong policies. He described the entire incident as sad and worrying.
