Today marks the 4th death anniversary of famous Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, lets take a look down the memory lane, remembering him for his contributions and more.

Introduction

Sushant Singh Rajput was a famous actor, who was born on 21st January 1986 in Patna. He completed his bachelors from the Delhi College Of Engineering. He dropped his college in the 4th year to continue his passion for acting. He is a brother to 4 older sisters and his mother died when he was just 17.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s career

Sushant started his career in acting from television, he was spotted by the casting team of Balaji Telefilms while he was working at the Prithvi Theater. He got selected as the second lead of the show named Kis Desh Mai Hai Meraa Dil, his character became quite popular and he was appreciated widely leaving an everlasting impression following which producer Ekta Kapoor offered him the lead role in a television show Pavitra Rishta going against the host channel of the show.

He played the role of Manav Deshmukh, the show was an overnight hit and proved to be a turning point of his career. His chemistry with his co-actor Ankita Lokhande was loved in by everyone, together they were considered as the ideal couple of ITV. He won many awards for his portrayal including the best actor male and the most popular actor. He has been a part of many dance reality shows such as Zara Nachke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, he was the runner up of the 4th season Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. He left Pavitra Rishta after working for almost two and a half years in the year 2011.


In the year 2011, he was spotted and invited by casting director Mukesh Chhabra for an audition. After that he was casted as Ishaan in the film Kai Po Che alongside Rajkumar Rao and Amit Sadh, earning him his debut film. The film was a success and was critically acclaimed, he was nominated as the best debutant for the same. Later on he was seen in the highest grossing India Film, PK, though his role was short but it was impactful. He later signed a contracted with Yash Chopra, he appeared in the film Suddh Desi Romance alongside Parineeti Chopra.

He was casted in the movie Detective Byomkesh Bakshi which turned out to be flop. He also ended his contract with Yash Chopra after a film was suspended which Yash Raj Films was co-producing.


In the year 2014 he was finalized to play the role of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his biopic, the movie turned out to be a blockbuster of the year and he received positive reviews for his acting and numerous award nominations as well. He was later starred in the movie Raabta alongside Kriti Sanon. He was seen alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Jacqueline Fernendez in the movie Sonchiriya and drive respectively.

He was casted in he movie Kedarnath alongside Sara Ali Khan which went through many controversies because of the portrayal of an inter-faith relationship turned out to be a success as well. He was seen in the movie Chhichhore alongside Shraddha Kapoor, the film was a box office success earning the award for the Best Feature Film in Hindi.

Personal Life

SSR started dating his co-star Ankita Lokhande, they were the most loved couple on and off screen, oh of hem have always been open about their relationship, they were to get married in the year 2016 but broke up just before that, Ankita mentioned they broke up mutually as he wanted to go ahead in his career. He was rumored to be in a relationship with co-stars Kriti Sanon and Sara Ali Khan which he denied. After his death, Rhea Chakraborty revealed that they were in relationship.

SSR’s Death

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on 14th June at Bandra, which shook the whole nation to core. He was symptoms of depression following many investigations around his case. His father filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty and 6 others for abetment of suicide, he accused her of cheating SSR and money fraud, in return she filed the case against his sister for giving him unprescribed psychotropic medication. The case was taken over by the ED and CBI, after many trials and investigations on the case it was finally concluding that it was a case of suicide.


Sushant loved to read, he was very interested in Astrophysics. He loved to have deep knowledge in space and wanted to be an astronaut. His last movie was Dil Bechara.
