That designer is Schiaparelli, supported by their fast-growing legendary Spring 2024 line.
Elsa: Queen of Surrealist Style
Elsa Schiaparelli established her brand of the same name in the 1930s, considered a pinnacle of surrealist style and ingeniously witty accessories. She opened her couture house in Paris which by 1935, became a leading name in the field of haute couture. Her style was inspired by exuberant eccentricity and simple neatness, and her historical creation of the ‘shocking pink’ shade that changed the world. Nearly 50 years after her passing, creative director Daniel Roseberry paid tribute to the Parisian house’s surrealist style and humour.
Traditional Avant Garde
Roseberry’s latest Spring 2024 line kicks off, one thing is for sure; he is indoctrinating the idealisms of surrealist avant-garde as created by Elsa Schiaparelli herself, as he embraces ‘the madness of Elsa’s approach’. The night began with a zip front coat, followed by an outfit featuring the iconic hanging golden lobster, a creative nod to Salvador Dali, who made it for the Duchess of Windsor. While speaking with him backstage, David Roseberry explains that the theme behind this line is ‘ode to youth’ which resembles much of Elsa’s Schiaparelli original inspirations and is a throwback to the early days of Schiaparelli House.
Famous Faces meets Famous Heritage
The famous Kardashian-Jenner Clan was spotted both on and offstage at the glamourous show. Kylie Jenner stunned in a beautiful silver vintage gown, a nod to fashion icon Marilyn Monroe. Kendall Jenner walked the ramp with flamboyant hair and a stunning strapless red dress with intricate beadwork. Shalom Harlow and Irina Shayk stunned the cameras with vintage Schiaparelli while walking the ramp in Roseberry’s most recent products of creative genius.
