The National Investigation Agency ( NIA ) carried out search operations across 10 States in regard with human trafficking cases. The 10 States included Tripura, Assam, Telangana, West Bengal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA also suspects some other regions and will be looking forward to the same soon.
The raids initiated with residential premises and further to other locations of suspects link to these cases in close coordination with the State Police Force.
The NIA assisted multiple teams that began to raid in these states early on Tuesday and continued throughout the day. These raids were specifically based on inputs against various suspects of being involved in crimes.
According to the sources, NIA Sleuths have searched over four dozen locations in these 10 States to unveil human trafficking rackets having international links.
Apparently, the NIA is currently investigating some other human trafficking rackets which involves innocent people being lured. The traffickers tempt with the mind of these people by giving them fake assurance and making false promises. It also includes the prospect of obtaining legitimate documentation for emigration to places like Canada, England by false covenant of secured employment opportunities and a better future. Innocent civilians get tricked by these and unknowingly become victims of human trafficking rackets.
