Paris Fashion Week 2024- Haute Couture Fall Winter 2024-2025
Commencing from January 22-25, Paris Haute Couture week sets luxurious and elegant standards, with the advent display of creativity and abstract inspiration and a testament to the enduring allure of fashion.
Schiaparelli Fall 2024 Collection
The Schiaparelli Fall collection 2024 blessed the runway with some of the most unique looks seen on the runway this year. With an entire dress made of old technology motherboards and bedazzlements and having a model walk carrying a baby model also made of technology motherboards and bedazzlements that suggest the concept of a satirical take on the modern generation youth and their dependency on technology.
The collection also featured a beautiful form-fitted style black velvet dress with a big snood as well as well as white feather embellishment with a mask that both came off as abstract yet creative.
Rahul Mishra Spring 2024 Collection
Rahul Mishra is one of the up-and-coming Indian designers on Haute Couture schedule and for the Spring 2024 collection of Fashion Week 2024 his collection featured various insects from all around the world.
Titled Superheroes, the collection is based on various types of insects from parts of the world that are incredibly important to their ecosystems. Other than insects, animals like snakes can also be seen as part of the inspiration for the collection as some of the other looks featured included snakes seen through honeycomb in embroidered nets. Some other animal inspirations included lizards embroidered on jeans and little moth motifs.
However the animal inspirations weren’t the only best part about this collection as the sheer moments that followed absolutely stole the show!
Gaurav Gupta Spring 2024 Collection
Designed by yet another Indian designer by the name Gaurav Gupta, this collection for Fashion Week 2024 was led by the notion of ‘arohana‘ which is a Sanskrit that means the idea of ascension.
The philosophical concept of ascension comes through ethereally which is really reflected in Gaurav Gupta’s signature micro-pleating style that appears as if its ascending up the models’ bodies. The concept can be very well seen reflected in the skirt suit as well cascading waterfall blue of the veil on one of the pieces.
But Gaurav isn’t a one-dimensional designer as we get to see a lot of beautiful tailoring styles with gorgeous embellishments and a display of more simple silhouettes which could entice a more careful and conservative Haute Couture clientele.
Robert Wun Spring/Summer 2024 Collection
Robert Wun presented its Spring Summer 2024 Couture Collection, titled “For Love”, making the brand’s second appearance on the Paris couture calendar. The collection drew inspiration from Wun’s favourite films, particularly horror movies, and reflected a moody surrealist aesthetic that significantly influenced the collection’s themes and silhouettes.
The opening looks of the Fashion week 2024 were in charcoal wood and embroidered with crystal raindrops, and the imaginative headwear, including umbrella hats and beaked helmets.
The final look as seen on the runway features a human-shaped appendage unfastening a blood-red gown thus paying a homage to the horror genre. The dramatic red gown with bustier concluded the show, along with a matching mannequin emerging from the waist at the rear, symbolizing the weight of the subconscious.
Marc Jacob’s Spring 2024 Collection
Through the display of Marc Jacob’s Spring 2024 collection at the Paris Fashion Week 2024, nothing short for a true fashion renaissance was commenced as the trend setters of the late 90’s and the early 2000’s are back.
The collection was titled ‘Wonder’ and Marc Jacob’s was looking to find a mixture between the mundane and brilliant which when looking at the silhouettes and proportions of the collection there’s nothing specifically ‘mundane’. However it could be assumed that he takes a lot of the motifs, materials and the prints and mixing the idea of boringness and everyday styles with radical proportions with beautiful high-quality materials to create wonderful tailoring styles.
The materials used included heavy knitwear and chunky styles as well as the iconic 70’s sweat suit with wide leg pants.
Throughout the commencing Fashion Week 2024 we have gotten to feast our eyes upon the various mesmerizing masterful creations of various designers inspired by abstracts of the mundane and with this comes to the end of a few of the top most creative designs/collections for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Haute Couture.
