The T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team returned on thursday morning after claiming their victory in Barbados. The Indian team showcased their immense talent and dedication by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final on Saturday. The BCCI has announced a victory parade to celebrate India’s win in the T20 World Cup.
The Indian cricket team was stuck in Barbados after the bad climatic conditions forced the airport to shut down due to Hurricane Beryl. After 2 days, the team and the officials returned to India in special flight AIC24WC. Despite the monsoon, hundreds of excited fans assembled outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome our winners. Showing their love and gratitude for team India by waving the national flag and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
BCCI organized a series of events for Team India, including a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi followed by a victory parade in Mumbai later in the evening.
The Indian men’s cricket team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, alongside Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and head coach Rahul Dravid, celebrated their return by cutting a cake on reaching the ITC Maurya hotel in New Delhi after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy.
As per the schedule, after which they visited the Prime Minister’s residence to meet Narendra Modi. The team will leave for Mumbai in the afternoon on a special flight and is expected to reach by 4 PM IST. The BCCI has planned a 1-kilometer-long victory parade starting from Nirman Point to Wankhede Stadium where you could see and join your idols, followed by a felicitation ceremony where the team will be given a prize of Rs 125 crore.

T20 WORLD CUP PARADE: HISTORY REPEATS AGAIN
Both BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Captain Rohit Sharma tweeted from their Twitter handles, encouraging the fans to join in the victory parade. The last time a parade of such huge magnitude occurred was back in 2007, when the MS Dhoni-led Indian team won its first T20 World Cup trophy. History will repeat itself once again.
Where will the victory parade take place?
The T20 World Cup- winning Indian squad will share in an open bus roadshow. It’s said that the cortege will be starting from Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the craze for cricket among Indians is so huge that looking at the situation the police force and security status of that area has been increased.
