“We fight, we win,” Harris reminded the Democratic party supporters. This brief implication made the roar of her support.
The presidential candidate was scheduled to make her appearance with President Joe Biden, the main speaker of the DNC on Monday. The event is set up for four days in Chicago.
Biden was urged by the party leaders to quit the Presidential seat, mostly because of his age. The party leaders were worried if the 81-year-old candidate could serve the country for the next four years.
The History With Kamala and Clinton
Biden withdrew from the presidential campaign allowing his vice president, a Black and Asian American woman to take on the Democratic party, making history of being the first woman to be the President of America, if she wins the election in November.
Before Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton was the first woman to secure a major nomination in the US Democratic Party’s presidential election. However, both of the times Clinton came up short in the trailblazing she lost the party’s nomination for the presidential candidate to Obama in 2008 later in 2016 she lost the election to Trump.
Biden when he was on a tour of the centre of the convention was asked about his experience and feelings about the contemporary situation. The president was asked if it was a bittersweet experience for him on Monday. To answer this the president heartily said that the situation was a “memorable moment” for him swiftly ignoring the bittersweet comment.
An Uncertain Campaign
Uncertainty arose about the party’s future due to the recent event when the Democrats assembled in the convention centre, almost thousands of people conjured a crowd to convey their protest of the party’s support towards the offence against Gaza by Israel.
Whereas the pro-Palestinian protests were predictable and a lesser number occurred than the anticipated ones. The event took a wrong turn when a split group left the main march and broke the security barriers of the centre, which caused the arrest of 4.
A prediction of uncertainty was accumulated with the protest as some party members were unsatisfied with the event and left the centre infuriated over the support of the administration towards Israel’s offence towards Gaza.
Trump’s Campaign
Trump is scheduled to hold his campaign this week in areas that already have a chance of critical outcome of the election known as battleground states. However with Trump’s continuous attacks on Harris’s race and gender, the major funders and backers shared discontent, and Trump was notified to barrier his criticism on her legislative records.
