Yudhra, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Malavika Mohanan, and Raghav Juyal, directed by Ravi Udyawar, released in theaters on Friday, September 20, is earning mixed reviews from the film enthusiasts. Some are in awe of the mind-blowing action in the movie, while others are disappointed with the predictable plotline. Overview of the Yudhra
With a running time of 142 minutes, the storyline of the latest Bollywood movie focuses on a young man with anger issues, played by Siddhant, infiltrating a drug cartel led by Firoz and his son Shafiq to avenge the death of his parents. This move is suggested by Rehman (played by Ram Kapoor), working in the special forces, and Kartik Rathore (played by Gajraj Rao), Yudhra’s adoptive father, in order to set the course of Yudhra’s life in the right direction. Yudhra’s love interest, who is also Rehman’s daughter, gets involved in the chaos.
Performance in the Yudhra
According to critiques, characters are one-dimensional, and backstory comes out as a justification that lacks depth. Siddhant Chaturvedi‘s first solo performance is praised for his action roles but unfortunately couldn’t deliver much. His love interest in the movie played by Malavika Mohanan has a minimal role but still manages to pack quite a performance. Viewers are impressed with her participation in the fight scene. Raghav Juyal as Shafiq, his usual role of antagonist, has mixed reviews, many comparing his performance with the role played by him in his last movie Kill. Yudhra also stars Gajraj Rao, Raj Arjun, and Ram Kapoor, who, as always, have performed the role with absolute perfection.
Review of the Yudhra
Despite Farhan Akhtar’s dialogues and Sriram Raghavan’s screenplay, the movie fails to impress the audience. Action scenes are quite far-fetched, which always is in the case of an action-thriller film, but the movie doesn’t provide any emotional connection to balance it out, which leaves the audience feeling dejected. Although the movie is packed with vivid locations and cinematography, Saathiya offers fresh music in the cinema. “Yudhra was a major letdown,” reviewed one viewer on social media, while the other wrote, “First day, first show, and what a movie to go for.”
