The majority of exit polls are indicating a significant defeat for the Maha Aghadi Vikas (MVA) and a decisive victory for the Mahayuti coalition in Maharashtra. At the same time, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to remove the current ruling Indian National Congress (INC) group from power in Jharkhand, based on the results of the majority of the exit polls announced on Wednesday. However, Axis My India believes that the JMM and its allies from the INC bloc are likely to maintain control in Jharkhand.
Initial results suggest a clear win for the Mahayuti coalition in Maharashtra. The pollsters have initially favored the BJP-led NDA in Jharkhand as well.
Matrize has forecasted that Mahayuti could secure 150-170 seats, MVA might win 110-130 seats, and the others could secure 8-10 seats. The current majority in the Maharashtra state assembly is 145. According to P-Marq pollster, Mahayuti could win between 137-157 seats in Maharashtra. The MVA is projected to win between 126-146 seats, according to this pollster.
The exit poll conducted by News24-Channakya predicts that the Mahayuti coalition will secure 152-160 seats, while the MVA is expected to win 130-138 seats in Maharashtra.

The initial predictions also show a slight advantage for the BJP-led NDA in Jharkhand. The People’s Pulse has estimated that the BJP-led NDA could secure 42-48 seats for the BJP-led NDA and 16-23 seats for JMM. The People’s Pulse has also estimated that the Congress party, an ally of JMM, could secure 8-14 seats.
The Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 is primarily a contest between two major alliances – the Mahayuti and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is allied with the leadership of Ajit Pawar from the NCP and Eknath Shinde from the Shiv Sena within the Mahayuti alliance. The opposition alliance, Mahayuti, includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), the NCP (Sharad Pawar), and the Congress party.
In Jharkhand, the battle is between the current ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
