A 21-year-old boy was killed in an explosion while making firecrackers at home in Delhi.

” A 21-year-old boy was killed while trying to make firecrackers at home. The experiment resulted in a vicious explosion and the man lost his life. The incident took place near Delhi’s Welcome Area, on Saturday”, said Delhi Police in a report.

The investigating officials said, there is a severe possibility that the victim was making firecrackers while watching online tutorials. He executed his experiment by making Sulphur and Potash which are excessively treacherous in nature. Thus, the experiment was hazardous and the combination of both elements ‘ explore’. They foresee that the victim was ‘injured badly ‘ as his experiment was a massive failure.

  • In an interview, Delhi Police said that they received a call at 2.10 pm on November 10, from Welcome Area by a local. He informed them about the enormous blast and a man being injured ineptly. Police reached there immediately and took the situation under control.
  • The man was rushed to Jag Pravash Chandra Hospital for treatment. He sustained heavy injuries in the explosion and ultimately succumbed to burn injuries. He was identified as Himanshu.
  • During the inquiry, it was found the victim had endured injuries” after a blast from some highly- reactive unknown materials at around 2.00 pm at his house.
  • Following the incident, the Crime Team along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Team reached the site to collect evidence, as reported by Delhi Police.
  • A police officer familiar with the matter stated, ‘ The deceased could not survive the menacing explosion as it was a deadly combination of Sulphur and Potash. He was deeply injured when he reached the hospital.
  • The Police Officer also stated that further investigations are underway. Strict actions will be taken to avoid such mishaps in the future.

This year in September, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that manufacturing, storage, sale, online delivery, and bursting of any type of firecrackers is not permitted in Delhi.

With increasing carelessness attitude of public towars the pollution’s precautions, air pollution is getting uncontrollable and results in massive downfall of nature.

” CM Arvind Kejriwal have decided that firecrackers should be banned on the occasion of Diwali to take the charge of air pollution under control. Manufacturing,storage, sale, delivery of firecrackers are strictly prohibited in Delhi.”

  • Delhi police have been directed to issue a circular on behalf of DPCC ( Delhi Pollution Control Committee ). It states that no license is to be issued in regaurd with firecrackers.
  • He also said,” Although Diwali is once-a-year auspicious festival, saving life of people is necessary as well.”
  • He took this huge decision keeping in mind safety measures towards the people. To give them a happy and pollution free environment, abiding by the sentiments of people of Delhi.

The Supreme Court have rejected the plea of to allow manufacturing, sale, storage and use of firecrackers in Delhi. The Upper courts also have imposed no objection over this decision taken by Delhi governament in order to protect the environment.
