Bad Newz” started well but faced a decline in its box office performance after the weekend. With a budget of ₹80 crore, the film still has a considerable distance to go to achieve profitability. The promotions were consistent and helped to boost up the movie.

The background of the movie 

“Bad Newz” is written in a chaotic yet humorous style. The story follows Vicky Kaushal’s character, along with his co-stars Tripti Dimri and Ammy Virk. The story unfolds as the audience navigates through a series of unexpected events in the film. 

The film is set against a backdrop of vibrant Indian culture and atmosphere though manages to mix the elements of romance, drama, and comedy.

Pulling off the act

Vicky Kaushal delivers a solid, entertaining performance. His act showcased his versatility. He effortlessly shifts his tone from comedy to drama. His charismatic presence helps to drag the audience stick on the screen. Somewhere it’s safe to say his performance successfully surpassed the other faces. 

Tripti Dimri plays her role with grace and adds depth to the narrative. Her chemistry with Kaushal is unexpectedly sizzling and chaotic at the same time.

Ammy Virk brings a fresh and energetic vibe to the ground. His perfect comic timing and screen presence contribute significantly to the movie’s lighter moments and makes it natural.

Direction and Writing 

Anand Tiwari’s direction is commendable as he manages to balance the various elements of the plot. The screenplay engages the audience though it occasionally falls into some predictable lines. The dialogues are witty and sound authentic. The lighter moments make the subject of the movie more comfortable and presents a social issue in a matured yet funny manner.

The movie remains uninterrupted with its scenes

The cinematography captures the essence of the vibrant settings, enhancing the visual appeal of the film. It complements the narrative well with a mix of peppy and soulful tracks. The movie includes new beats and also serves the audience with the remake of a famous song “mere mehboob mere sanam”.

The box office collection 

The film released a week ago and since then it has proved its presence in the theaters.

The box office collections of the movie stands at ₹42 crores as of now.

The movie opened its fortune with ₹8.3 crores on Friday. 

On day 2 the movie collected ₹10.25 crores. On its third day it still managed to get ₹11.15 crore and maintained its consistency. But it faced a backdrop from Monday. According to Sacnilk the day 4 collection was just ₹3.5 crores. On Tuesday the graph remained untouched and stayed at ₹3.75 crores. 

After a week of its release “Bad newzz” acquired a profit of ₹42 crores.

The whole cast, especially Vicky Kaushal, has been actively promoting the film. This has helped in impressing the audience and brought some attention to the film. Kaushal’s surprise theater visits and social media engagement have been part of these efforts.

Is the movie worth watching?

Though keeping everything on a side note “Bad Newz” is an entertaining comedy-drama film and it manages to keep the audience stuck in their seats. With the humor, performances, and visual appeal the movie sets forth a stand to be tagged as a well made sequel of a famous film. While it has its flaws, the film succeeds in providing a fun and enjoyable cinematic experience.
