Doda gets hit by another strike: the suspect-sketches are out wanted for 20 Lakhs

A gunfight in Doda resulted into injuring a policeman during search operations, sketches of suspects are out as safety measure  

The situation in Jammu Kashmir is growing increasingly alarming due to the recurring instances of violence. Despite the assurances of security and surveillance from ADGP Jain, the region continues to experience a rise in new attacks, strikes, and killings daily. Just a day after the security guarantee, another unfortunate attack was reported.

The timeline of Doda 

On Wednesday, there was a terrorist attack at Chhatrakala Base. Anand Jain addressed rumors of civilian casualties and injuries, confirming the death of one CRPF officer. Six personnel and a civilian were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. This attack happened shortly after the Kathua attack, where a terrorist was neutralized.

The recent attack

In a village located in the Gandoh area of the Dado district in Jammu and Kashmir, a confrontation occurred between militants and the security forces during a search operation. The clash resulted in a police officer being injured and led to an exchange of gunfire between the militants and the combined forces of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the army.

At approximately 7:41 in the Kota top area of Bhalessa, there was an exchange of gunfire which was met with retaliation by the forces. The intense exchange of bullets between the two sides led to the dispatch of additional reinforcements to strengthen the cordon at the site. The individual injured in the confrontation has been identified as ‘Fareed Ahmad’.The cop has been hospitalized and undergoing treatment. 

The gunfight took place at the Jammu-Himachal border, re-establishing contact with militants of upper Gandoh. The Gandoh and Kishtwar area has been a hotbed for the activity of terrorist groups such as Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and Jaish between 1994 and 2001. These groups

 are actively employing various strategies to exert pressure on the state, similar to those used in the past. 

Damage Control 

Four Sketches of the suspected militants are issued officially, and they are declared wanted 5 lakhs, Fruit-full information about them would be also considered rewardable. These were involved in Bhaderwah, Tathiri, and Gandoh terror activities.   

An X post being circulated gives out Contact numbers of Police officials for information about these suspects, the anonymity of the informant is assured in the post. 

A sketch terrorist involved in the Raesi bus tragedy is also being circulated, where he is wanted for 20 lakh rupees as a reward according to The Lallantop on X.

“Sending Patches and groups of terrorists and attacks on sites are part of a strategy, various groups of these militants are active in different regions of Kashmir”, a source reported.   

Search operations are currently underway in the Poonch and Rajouri areas. Alerts have been issued for Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts, and enhanced surveillance measures are in place due to concerns about potential threats to the region. A notice has been issued to advise residents of the state to remain alert for any suspicious objects or activities. The police have increased security measures and are currently conducting thorough checks of vehicles. Naka checking is being carried out following the encounter with Gandoh in the Doda district. 

The regional security forces and the police are actively taking steps to combat these activities, and the involvement of government forces and assistance is crucial at this point.
