The driver had taken Renuka Swamy whose body was recovered later; he is reported to have surrendered to the DSP office at Chitradurga.

Kannada actor Darshan arrest case: The driver, who allegedly had taken the deceased Renuka Swamy in the car, later identified as Ravi in the high-profile murder case of a man, involving the popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, and 11 others, surrendered before the deputy superintendent of police’s office in Chitradurga in Karnataka on Thursday night.

One of them named as Raghu @ Raghavendra with others arranged a taxi and took Renuka Swamy to Bengaluru in a Tata Sumo on . The suspects were able to get into Ravi’s cab in Chitradurga city and by the evening they were in Bengaluru.

After reaching Bengaluru lows, Ravi had to run for his cover. He later called the taxi association in Chitradurga and the association suggested him to give himself up to the police, added NDTV quoting unnamed sources.

It is claimed that the actor and his associates abducted Renuka Swamy to a shed in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru and Darshan allegedly assaulted him with a belt on the back while his accomplices severely flogged him with rods until he fell unconscious.

He was then thrown against a wall thus fracturing him in several parts of his body. When the corpse was discovered, it is said that dogs were feeding on it after the body had been discovered by a food delivery rider.

However, Darshan Thoogudeepa, famously called ‘Challenging Star’, and his companions were apprehended on Tuesday for the homicide of 33-year-old Renuka Swamy, a fan of the actor.

A Chitradurga resident Renuka Swamy, reportedly left vulgar messages on the page of a small-time actress Pavithra Gowda and accused her of being the reason for the break-up between the star and his spouse.He was also accused by the police of using unpleasant language and writing obscene contents on the blog.

In the meantime, the Bengaluru Police have imposed restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPC within a 200-meter vicinity of the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station where the suspects are detained and interrogated, assembly of the public is barredKarnataka home minister G Parameshwara on Friday rubbished the report that ‘royal treatment’ was being extended to Darshan Thoogudeepa And Associates at a police station where they are detained after being arrested.

He said Darshan is being given such treatment as is accorded to any other accused, we did not serve ‘biryani’ to him or extend special facility to him.
