The dead Airport official wore women’s clothing

A lot of confusion and a speculative situation has arisen taking in consideration the attire in which the official was found hanging in. The official was found suspended from a ceiling fan in Uttrakhand’s

Udham Singh Nagar district while wearing women’s attire, such as a maxi dress, undergarments, bindi, lipstick, and bangles.

Chausali, the dead victim who came from the Pithoragarh district, held the position of assistant manager (air traffic control) at the airport. During the incident, his wife, who is a teacher, was in Pithoragarh. The couple had a two and a half year old girl child.

SSP Udham Singh’s statement on the case

SSP (Udham Singh Nagar) Manjunath TC informed TOI that the relatives and colleagues forcibly opened the official’s bedroom door and discovered him hanging. He was rushed to a hospital where medical professionals pronounced him ‘dead on arrival’. The room, which was locked from the inside, showed no signs of forced entry as the door was locked from inside. Additionally, there were no indications of physical harm.

Plans before the death

A police officer involved in the investigation stated that the official was in his two-bedroom residence with two relatives. The trio had dinner together on Sunday and went out at night before returning back to the apartment.

Initial inquiries suggest that the two relatives were in one room while the official was in the other. They had planned to visit a nearby mango orchard around 8 am on Monday. However, when the AAI official did not wake up in the morning despite repeated calls by the two, they alerted his colleagues residing nearby.

Subsequently, they broke open the door to his room and found him hanging from a noose made from a dupatta tied to the ceiling fan.The police officer investigating the case told that they are investigating the reason behind his presence in women’s clothing.

Statement on the investigation by City SP

SP (city) Manoj Katyal mentioned that the police are interrogating the two relatives and colleagues. He further stated that they have taken possession of his cell phone to analyze his call records and other information for a cyber forensic investigation.

He told that his superiors and coworkers described him as an exemplary professional with no history of misconduct. The SP further added that the circumstances surrounding his demise and the cause of death will be determined once they obtain the postmortem report. Also, they are keeping all possibilities open.
