Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ Based on India’s First Airstrike announced

Akshay Kumar has made an official announcement about his upcoming movie Sky Force, which is based on India’s first and most lethal aerial strike. The film was announced on the auspicious day of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti and is all set to release on October 2, 2024.

Akshay Kumar has announced a thriller movie based on the nation’s first air strike against neighbouring Pakistan. Following the success of OMG 2 and on the verge of releasing another movie Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, Akshay Kumar is all set to mesmerize fans by announcing Sky Force on the auspicious day of October 2.

Akshay Kumar took to his social media handle to announce the film. Apart from Gandhi Jayanti, October 2 is also the birth date of our former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, under whose tenure the film has been set. This special day serves as a perfect occasion for the announcement of the film.

Akshay Kumar officially announces Sky Force

Akshay Kumar took his Instagram to share the official announcement video which also consisted of the release date. 

The video starts with a voiceover of a person identified as Muhammad Ayub Khan, then President of Pakistan issuing a cautionary message to India. Following this, we could see a clip featuring former Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri’s powerful response to the threat, emphasizing that India is ready to face any challenge and it fears no one. 

Akshay beautifully captioned the post writing,”आज गांधी-शास्त्री जयंती के दिन सारा देश कह रहा है – जय जवान, जय किसान, जय विज्ञान, जय अनुसंधान. The film is co-directed by Abhishek Kapur and Sandeep Kelwani. Sky Force will also see the debut of young emerging talent Veer Pahariya playing a significant role in the upcoming project. The idea is to provide new talents a chance to portray their fresh and energetic performance in the project.

Akshay has already started working on the film for the past few weeks, even celebrating his birthday on the sets of the film in Lucknow on September 9. According to reports, actresses Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur are also a part of the film.

The film will be presented by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan. The movie is written by Sandeep Kelwani. The film is based on an untold story that will shed light on a very significant part of India’s history.

Akshay’s Upcoming films

Akshay Kumar was last seen in the comedy-drama film OMG 2, which was a sequel to the 2012 film OMG. By picking up an important issue, the movie gave a strong social message with a touch of humour added to it. 

The film turned out to be a massive entertainer and was loved by the audience. The movie also did well in the box-office collections despite Gadar 2 storming simultaneously.

He is now gearing up for Mission Raniganj with actress Parineeti Chopra. The duo previously worked in the 2019 film Kesari. The film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Jacky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshika Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor.

The trailer clearly lives up to the huge hype surrounding the film. Khiladi Kumar essays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill who played an important role in rescuing trapped surviving miners inside a flooded coal mine in Raniganj in November 1989. The film is all set to release on October 6, 2023.
Akshay will also be seen in the Hindi remake of the hit Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru. Apart from this, he also has an action-thriller film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside talented Tiger Shroff. He will also be seen in the 5th installment of India’s biggest comedy franchise Housefull 5 which is announced to release in Diwali 2024.
