FIR Investigations and Questioning start on Tuesday
A list in Bhopal containing names of journalists linking them to corruption went viral. The Fir is filed by the crime branch of Madhya Pradesh. As per the FIR, the viral lists include names of Journalists with accusations such as illegal corruption cases with the Transport Department.
The founder and group editor of Digiana Media Group, Rizwan Ahmad Siddiqui, said “We have submitted the names of some persons who made the list viral along with their social media handles. We want the police to question them to ascertain the source.”
Social Media Trials Post FIR
Vivek Tankha, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, posted on X and asked the state police to investigate the list with utmost sincerity and immediate attention.
This post has questioned the prestige and honor of the police. It said, “MP is strange and amazing. A four-page list of journalists of the state is viral. It is said that this is the list of monthly payments made by the Transport Department”. This felt somewhat familiar to the 1996 ‘Hawala scandal’ when the names of all the big and small parties were released. Even though the list’s authenticity is yet to be confirmed, it will still have drastic political consequences.
Speculations and allegations are being made about CM Mohan Yadav’s opponents. Hurting the sentiments of journalists and questioning the integrity of their profession will not be received well by the general public. The police have an immense responsibility to investigate the case well and find the sources as soon as possible.
