Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has addressed questions about his decision to keep working despite his long and illustrious career. In a candid note posted on his blog on Sunday, Amitabh shared his thoughts on the topic, stating that he has no specific answer other than the fact that it’s another job opportunity for him. He also questioned why anyone should have a problem with that.
Amitabh Bachchan Addresses questions
Amitabh wrote, “People on set keep asking why I continue to work, and my only answer is that it’s simply another job opportunity. What other reason could there be? Others have their own opinions and often impose them as if they are the ultimate authority. But unless you’ve experienced what I have, you won’t truly understand. You’re free to draw your own conclusions, just as I’m free to keep working.”
He continued, “My work was assigned to me. When it’s your turn, you’ll need to answer that question for yourself. My reasons might not match yours, but everyone has the right to express themselves through various platforms, so your voice is heard. You’ve spoken, I’ve listened, and I’ve shared why I keep working. That’s who I am. My reasons are personal—kept private and secure.”
Amitabh wrapped up his note with a powerful statement: “The lack of meaningful content drives you to construct your own sandcastles and take pride in them. But, in time, sandcastles crumble. For those who build them, I hope you find some lasting significance. As for me, my work is completed and remains firm. I WORK… PERIOD. If you have an issue with that, then get to work and see for yourself.”
Amitabh’s Current Projects
Amitabh Bachchan is currently reprising his role as the host of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) for its 16th season. Recently, he appeared in “Kalki 2898 AD,” a post-apocalyptic film directed by Nag Ashwin. The movie, inspired by Hindu scriptures, is set in the year 2898 AD and features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani. The film is a mythology-inspired sci-fi extravaganza set in the future, with cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.
In addition to KBC and “Kalki 2898 AD,” Amitabh is busy shooting for the upcoming film “Vettaiyan,” which also stars Rajinikanth. Scheduled for a worldwide release in October this year, the film features a star-studded cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan, with Anirudh Ravichander serving as the music composer.
