Ananya Panday talked candidly about navigating celebrity and fandom, admitting that she suffers from imposter syndrome. The actress is getting ready for CTRL, the upcoming film starring Vikramaditya Motwane.

One of Bollywood’s most well-liked young actresses is Ananya Panday. The CTRL actress, despite her considerable fame, has said that she experiences imposter syndrome. She said she sometimes forgets it’s her on screen when she sees herself in movies or on billboards.

“My imposter syndrome stems from something as simple as when someone says my name” – Ananya Panday

Ananya Panday discussed her struggles with celebrity and fame in a recent interview with News18 Showsha. “My imposter syndrome stems from something as simple as when someone says my name,” she disclosed. In situations like interviews, I feel like a third person and that my name isn’t really mine.” She continued by saying that it forces her to abruptly change into someone else. The actress continued by saying that she doesn’t feel like she is staring at herself when she sees a billboard of herself. “When I watch one of my films the same thing takes place. I forget that it’s me on television when I watch them as an audience member,” she continued.

The 25-year-old actress continued by saying that she constantly looks to others for approval, particularly on movie sets, and that she is quite hard on herself. Even though the director gave her the go-ahead, she claims that Ananya is never satisfied with her shot since she believes she could have done it better. The actress stated that she always finds room for improvement and that, given the option, she would reshoot everything.

Ananya was also questioned about if the severe criticism and abuse she experiences on social media contributes to her imposter syndrome. She responds that it varies depending on the day. She disclosed that while on some days she would start to think she might “suck” because someone on Instagram thought so, on other days she would choose to ignore anything bad that was stated about her.

She said that this only occurs to her when she is having a rough day on set or is having trouble with a shot. The actress made a point about how social media may negatively affect a person’s memory and stay with them.

The moviegoers enjoyed Ananya’s recent performances in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and Call Me Bae, which she claims has increased her confidence as an artist. “It gives me confidence in the decisions I’m making,” she said.

She continued by saying that she was discouraged from taking on too many extravagant projects early in her career and that some had questioned her choice to make a series. The actress started to second-guess why no one was watching them at that point. She is confident that she is making the correct decisions, though, given the positive feedback on her most recent endeavours.

Working with wonderful people has been paying off, according to the Student of the Year 2 recipient. She is still at ease with the path her career is taking since she thinks her choices will eventually pay off.

Regarding work, Ananya and Vihaan Samat are getting ready for the release of CTRL, written by Vikramaditya Motwane. The next cyberthriller explores social networking and the potential effects of artificial intelligence. After Call Me Bae, this movie is Ananya and Vihaan’s second collaboration.

It is written by Avinash Sampath and Vikramaditya Motwane, produced by Nikhil Dwivedi and Arya A Menon, with dialogue by Sumukhi Suresh. The debut of CTRL on Netflix is scheduled for this Friday, October 4, 2024.

Furthermore, the second season of her Call Me Bae will premiere soon.
