Apple Appoints Kevan Parekh As The New company CFO

Kevan Parekh, on Tuesday was declared as the next CFO of Apple Incorporation. This decision will be effective from the 1st of January, next year, that is 2025. 

Whom Is He Replacing?

Mr. Kevan Parekh will be taking the position of the Chief Financial Officer which ahs been held by Mr. Luca Maestri, since 2014. 

Has He Been A Part Of Apple?

Mr. Parekh has been associated with the company since the last 11 years. He has managed different tasks and has often been described as someone with a ‘smart intellect’ and ‘financial brilliance’. He has been a part of Apple since 2013 and has become a critical figure in the company. He serves as the Vice-President of The Financial Planning and Analysis department and has gained significant experience over the years. He has focussed on market research and investor relations too. 

What Was His Career Prior To This?

Prior to joining Apple, Mr. Parekh, worked in several major corporations. He worked with Thomson Reuters and also General Motors for sometime. These experiences hone his skills to a huge extent. 

The Indian origin, 52 year old has acquired an education in engineering and in business with a deep and strategic understanding of finance. 

Why The Transition?

According to experts and analysts, this is an expected and a long overdue transition for the company. This change is expected to be extremely smooth and a part of the long term company plans. Maestri, who has been training Parekh, exudes confidence about his skills and capabilities, and expects him to do well for the company. This has created a positive market emotion too. 

As Parekh takes on the new CFO post, it remains to be seen the kind of changes he has in mind for Apple. How he takes various decisions according to the ever evolving world scenario and the software market and space are yet to be seen.
