Former Disney star and world-famous popstar Ariana Grande has split from her husband realtor Dalton Gomes recently and has begun dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, who also separated from his high school sweetheart and the mother of his child Lily Jay fairly recently. The pair have raised eyebrows for their messy relationship timelines and their recent public outing has just confirmed and raised even more concern.

The duo went onto the set of Wicked in December of 2022 married and committed to their spouses and a year later came out in a relationship together while amidst divorce with their spouse. The filming for the musical began in December of 2022, with Grande playing the role of good witch Glenda and Slater playing the role of Boq, he was previously known for his Broadway role of SpongeBob Squarepants.
In January of 2023, reports alleged that Grande and her husband of two years have separated, yet in May of 2023 Grande took to her Instagram to post a picture of them together to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. In July 2023 news broke of the pair’s separations, when the popstar was spotted at a Wimbledon game without her wedding ring. According to the TMZ Reports, the pair was separated for a few months and was heading for a divorce. That same month news broke of Grande and Slater’s relationship.
Slater married his high school sweetheart Lily Jay in 2018 and welcomed their first child in August of 2022. TMZ broke the news of their relationship stating the pair had got together at the filming of their film Wicked. The day this news broke neither Slater nor his wife had confirmed a separation, later in the day a People’s report confirmed that the pair had gone their separate ways.
Lily Jay, Slater’s estranged wife broke her silence on the matter and gave a short interview to a Page Six report the next day where she fired the shots at Grande and called her “not a girls girl” adding that “her family is just collateral damage”. A source stated that Jay never saw the divorce coming and was completely blindsided, whereas an anonymous source stated that Slater and Jay had been separated for two months before he began his relationship with Grande. The next couple of months ensued Grande’s divorce being finalised, the new pair being spotted on a Disney trip that raised some eyebrows. In October the pair made headlines when Grande stepped out to support her new beau and was spotted cheering on for the Broadway’s new musical Spamalot preview performance, which Slater was also a part of. The couple were since spotted enjoying and catching up on some theatre shows, Grande was also spotted at the Spamalot’s premier with her family.
The couple has been infamously spotted by the paparazzi whilst out having an intimate dinner at the Mandarin Orient Hotels, the pair raised some eyebrows when these pictures were dropped by TMZ as they were seen packing on the PDA in the pictures. The pair seemed to be going strong even during the festive season, as Grande dropped a subtle nod to her boyfriend on her Christmas tree, the fans were quick to notice that the sneaky picture on her Instagram contained an ornament that was directly linked to her new man.
In the latest development in the pair’s romance, they were spotted in New York at an Italian restaurant for dinner with Grande’s father and people were quick to notice the difference in the pair’s attire where Ariana chose to dress up for the fancy dinner, Slater was seen in an ultra casual fit. The reports also state that the pair have moved in together and are now moving forward in their relationship.
