Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal will address a ‘Janta ki Adalat’ at Jantar Mantar in the capital on September 22. The extroverted Chief Minister of Delhi walked out of  Tihar jail last week following a Supreme Court order allowing him a warrant in the excise policy-connected money laundering case.

Kejriwal had earlier expressed his intention to seek a public mandate on the Delhi excise policy case. “In two days, I will resign as chief minister. I will not sit on that [CM’s] chair till the people announce their verdict.

Elections in Delhi are months away. I got justice from the legal court, now I will get justice from the people’s court. I will sit on the chief minister’s chair only after the order of the people,” he had declared.

Notably, the ‘Janta ki Adalat’ event is scheduled to take place at the very location where Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement had taken shape in 2011, which had brought Kejriwal into the national spotlight. Kejriwal has now chosen to address these allegations directly by returning to the same venue where his political journey began—Jantar Mantar.
