President Murmu talked about commitments on Partnership
Addressing the leaders of the Fijian Parliament, President Murmu said, “As India emerges strong on the global stage, we stand ready to work with Fiji based on your priorities to build a stronger, more resilient and prosperous nation. Let us together harness the full potential of our partnership for the mutual benefit of the people of our two beloved countries”. President Murmu said cooperation between the two countries in various areas, including healthcare, manufacturing, research and renewable energy, continued to grow. She noted that India and Fiji had close ties.

The historic meeting of our two prime ministers in May 2023 within the framework of the FIPIC-3 summit brought new energy and direction to our bilateral relations. I am confident that the recently announced projects, including the highly specialized heart hospital to be established in Suva, will help meet the priority needs of the people of Fiji and the wider Pacific region than.
President Murmu Honored By Fiji’s Highest Civilian Award
President Murmu is “honored” to be awarded the title of Companion of the Order of Fiji and described the honor as reflecting “the deep bond of friendship between the two countries”. She recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in the Fijian Parliament. President Murmu said: “In the short time I have been here, I see that the rest of the world has a lot to learn from Fiji. The Fijian way of life, deep respect for traditions and customs, an open and multicultural environment make Fiji such a special place in an increasingly conflicted world.
