Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi Marlena today correctly pretended the charge as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi but established an empty chair next to her in a representative signal towards her party chief and former CM Arvind Kejriwal

Drawing a representative contrast to the Hindu epic Ramayana, Atishi pronounced, “My position is like that of Bharat when Lord Shri Rama investigated exile, and Bharat had to rule in welcome omission.”The 43-year-old CM vowed to run the management as far as the forthcoming Delhi elections, while “Bharat governed, accompanying Lord Ram’s ‘khadaun’ (sandals) on the throne.”

Atishi retained crucial areas in the way that she held in the Kejriwal government, including education, finance, revenue, power, and PWD, directing a total of 13 portfolios. Saurabh Bharadwaj, the one who holds eight departments, took charge of the health and urban department. Newcomer Mukesh Ahlawat was assigned accompanying areas to charge of labour, SC/ST, employment, and land and building departments, while Gopal Rai was kept in charge of development, general administration, department, environment, and forest. The new committee, directed by Atishi, has a long list of undecided projects, schemes, and new drives expected to start in the next few months before Delhi goes to the polls in February next period.

BJP criticises Atishi’s gesture of leaving empty chair

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has strongly condemned Atishi’s gesture of placing an empty chair beside her, reserved for Arvind Kejriwal. Sachdeva termed the act a violation of constitutional norms and an insult to the Chief Minister’s office.

In a statement, Sachdeva said: “Placing two chairs at the Chief Minister’s desk is disrespectful to the Constitution, the rules, and the office of the Chief Minister. This is not an act of idealism, as Atishi claims, but blatant sycophancy in clear terms.”

He further criticised Atishi for disrespecting the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office and hurting the sentiments of Delhi’s citizens with this behaviour.
