Joao Felix has shown his interest in his former team, as Chelsea’s previous deal with Sam Omorodion collapsed. Chelsea is currently looking for a deal of £56 million since the transfer of Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid remains incomplete.
Chelsea has offered a permanent deal to Joao Felix, previously he was a loan player in Chelsea where he scored four goals in half of the 2022-23 season.
Atletico Madrid has been managing their funds by sale of their players, since the previous deal with Omorodion to Chelsea didn’t work out, Joao Felix is their best chance.
Chelsea and their ongoing transfer deals
Chelsea has made the biggest expenditure this season with 10 signings of £184 m, with some player exits. The owners of Chelsea are making these changes to enhance the structure of the team on the basis of performance bonus, recently they have struck out some high salaried deals.
Romelu Lomaku and Trevoh Chalobah are two players whose transfer remains uncertain, Chelsea is also looking out to make transfer deals for their strikers Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana. Their recent deal of transferring Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid is stuck, on the part of some errors done by Atletico Madrid’s part.
Gallagher rejected the deal with Aston Villa as Atletico Madrid offered £36 m and five year contract, while Gallagher is already in Spain, and the last stages of deal are being finalised. The Sam Omorodion deal didn’t work out due to contractual errors, so they have focused on re-signing Joao Felix.
Joao Felix’s reign as loan player
Joao Felix was signed as a loan player by Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, in the previous summer. He scored seven goals and five assists in all twenty six games for Barcelona.
However it wasn’t enough for his career milestone as his future at Atletico Madrid remains unclear, since he was loaned twice by Chelsea and Barcelona. His contract with Barcelona couldn’t be done because of financial issues with the team, but even after his performances, Barcelona isn’t looking for Joao Felix to stay.
Now this has arrived on the current deal of Chelsea who have offered to bid on £56 million, whose initial sums would be paid and the remaining fee later on. After 24 goals and 131 appearances with Atletico Madrid, Felix is looking for a permanent switch.
Felix and his return to Chelsea FC.
Atletico Madrid’s offer of Omorodion fell out as they recently bought Julian Alvarez from Manchester City and there had been some fluctuations in contract, and hence Chelsea is interested in Joao Felix instead of Sam Omorodian, even though the forward played for Spain and won Gold in Olympics.
Chelsea with their new players and management style are looking to reform the team, however this hasn’t been well met with the Chelsea FC fans. The Portugal international Felix had already played for Chelsea, it could be possible if Chelsea are looking forward to welcome back Felix as a part of their new project.
