SC/ST BJP MPs called on Prime Minister Modi on Friday to oppose the judgment of the Supreme Court, where the apex court recommended states that the benefits of reservations should be not extended to SC/ST members who belong to the ‘creamy layer’. Nijut Moina Scheme, a plan which attempts to provide scholarships to ten lakh girls in Assam, was approved and implemented on Thursday by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Naxal insurgency hit area in nine states has decreased considerably from 2013 till 2024, according to Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai. The minister wrote in a reply to BJP MP Satish Kumar Gautam that in states like Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, the extent of Left Wing Extremism has been limited significantly.
