Delhi’s Mungeshpur area experienced a sweltering 52.3 degrees celsius on Wednesday, the highest temperature ever seen in the city, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Officials believe that this degree of extreme temperature difference between Mungeshpur’s 52 degrees and the surrounding  locality’s 49 degrees is very unlikely and attribute it to a possible fault in the local temperature sensing system. On this day in history 25 years ago, on 29 May 1999, space shuttle Discovery set the record to become the first ever to dock with the International Space Station. During this STS-96 mission, Discovery delivered several crucial components to the International Space Station (ISS) using the Integrated Cargo Carrier. These components included the Russian cargo crane, STRELA; the SPACEHAB Oceaneering Space System Box; and the American crane, ORU Transfer Device.
