In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court of India permitted the medical termination of a 28-week pregnancy for a 14-year-old rape survivor on Monday, April 22nd, 2024. The apex court exercised its extraordinary power granted under Article 142 of the Indian Constitution to do “complete justice.” The First Information Report (FIR) of this case was registered on March 20 i.e. after the 24 week limit permissible for abortion. Yale University is under fire after one of its student journalists was viciously attacked during a pro-Palestinian rally on Saturday evening. Sahar Tartak, the editor-in-chief of the Yale Free Press publication, was surrounded by a hostile group of protesters who subjected her to anti-Semitic taunts and threats before one individual struck her directly in the eye with a Palestinian flag staff.
