Türkiye’s parliament approved a law on July 29 to remove millions of stray dogs from the streets. Animal lovers fear that this law will lead to many dogs being killed or ending up in neglected, overcrowded shelters. Hours before the Olympics opening ceremony in Paris, France, the high-speed TGV train network was hit by “malicious acts,” including arson attacks, on Friday, according to train operator SNCF. In a study conducted on sharks off the coast of Brazil, marine biologists discovered high levels of cocaine in their muscles and livers. They believe the drug may be affecting the sharks’ behaviour.
