A final-year degree student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a biker while returning from a get together party in Bengaluru.

The Additional Commissioner of Police (East Zone), Raman Gupta released his statement and stated that the girl was assaulted by an unknown biker at the early hours of Sunday, 18th August in Bengaluru.
The victim was a third year undergraduate student and was not a localite of Karnataka. She was returning home from Hebbagodi after a get-together in Koramangala pub.
The police claim that the victim had been drinking at the pub. She took an auto-rickshaw on her way home. Unfortunately, the vehicle got into an accident. She was left unscratched but was still intoxicated. Then she took a ride from an unknown biker who deviated from the original route and took her to an isolated area where he attempted to rape her.
According to the media reports, one of the friends of the survivor received an emergency signal along with the location on her phone. She tried to get in contact with her but her phone was unreachable.
She alerted her other friends who arrived at the location and found the survivor in extreme distress. They saw the suspect only in his trousers with scratches all over his face. When they tried to apprehend him, he fled off.
The survivor was immediately taken to a private hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition as of now.
The Police Department is working hard and has gathered all the necessary information by forming five teams to carry out the investigation.

The HSR Layout Police have registered the case under Section 64 (Punishment for rape) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
