Bengaluru:15-year-old school going kid set up a murder as suicide of a 20-year-old.

Girl found dead in the bathroom of her south Bengaluru house and police initially suspected it as a case of suicide, but the mother was not able to come terms with the loss. After which the police made an arrest which shocked her, the remorseless face of the accused, a 15-year-old boy who was a friend of the victim’s brother.

According to the police the boy had stolen 2000 rupees from the girl’s purse, the girl had witnessed it and threatened to expose him for the theft. He told the police that he had to pay that money to a friend who’s glasses he had damaged while playing cricket. The boy fell at her feet to apologize then killed her in cold blood. Prabuddha, a college student was found dead with her hand and throat slit at her residence in Brundavan layout in South Bengaluru Padmanabhanagar area on the 15th of May. After her mother Sowmya KR, a social worker, claimed her daughter had been murdered, the police filed a case of suspected murder. The autopsy revealed that the body and the bathroom were washed thoroughly.

Bengaluru Accused’s, Confessions.

His confession stated that, he had come to the house to kill her, she insisted the money was stolen by him and asked him to pay it back and that she will complain it to his parents, pleading her to not do so, he fell on her feet apologizing suddenly pulled her leg for which she fell on the floor hit her head and became unconscious. The boy planned the murder with the knowledge that Prabuddha had tried killing herself a few years back. “I pulled her to the bathroom then I fetched a knife from the kitchen, she regained consciousness and begged to leave her. I started suffocating her. Prabuddha tried to fight back and injured my face with her nails. She again fell unconscious because of the suffocating. I then slit her wrist of her left hand to make it look like a suicide. After 15 minutes of bleeding, I washed her hand. But I needed to confirm she was dead and slit the left side of her neck. I washed her, the knife, and myself before leaving her house”, a senior police officer quoted from the boy’s statement.

Lokesh B Jagalasar DCP (South) said the juvenile lived 2 streets away from the victim’s house. The boy had given a confession where it is clear that it was a per determined murder and not the heat moment which caused the killing. The boy had climbed his neighbor’s terrace and hopped across rooftops to reach her house in order to be not captured in any CCTV cameras on the street. After the murder he again hoped rooftops to go back home, a police officer said. The police officers were also shocked to see the way the juvenile planned murder and destroyed evidence. “He was produced before the judge online. On the video call, he spoke for 15 minutes and narrated everything without pause,” a cop said.
