The man behind the blast at Bangalore’s Rameshwaram Cafe, Farhatullah Ghori, is seen to be asking his followers to attack Indian government functionaries, including the railways. The video was circulated on various Telegram channels.

The video has left the intelligence agencies in the country on high alert as it showed Farhatullah Ghori asking the Indian sleeper cells to attack the trains across India.

Who is Farhatullah Ghori?

The Pakistan-based terrorist, who is also known as Abu Sufiyan, Faru, and Sardar Sahab, has been linked to many high-profile attacks. Some of them include the 2002 Akshardham Temple attack in the state of Gujarat and the 2005 suicide attack on the Hyderabad Task Force Office. The 2002 temple attack resulted in the death of 30 people and had injured 80 others. His role as the mastermind behind the attack was revealed in March.

Ghori, allegedly, is organising an online jihadist recruitment, according to the Delhi Police who had put out a statement last year after arresting three of the most-wanted terrorists. It was the arrested terrorists who had revealed that Ghori was the man handling them.

Farhatullah Ghori was on record of the Delhi Police after many terrorists of the Pune-ISIS module were arrested. At this time, the officials had claimed that the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) was responsible for running sleeper cells in the country and would recruit young people to carry out the attacks.

Ghori’s Masterplan

The video shows Ghori calling the sleeper cells in India asking them to derail the railway network of the country. He also explains various methods of using a pressure cooker to invoke bomb blasts.

He not only talks about the railway network but also talks about his plan to target Hindu leaders and the petroleum pipelines of India. In reference to the former target, he would say that the Indian government is weakening the sleeper cells. “But we will return and shake the government,” said Ghori in the video that is circulating on Telegram.

The video was released about three weeks ago, according to sources from intelligence agencies.

The Rameshwaram Cafe Blast

The incident made headlines as the restaurant is one of the most well-known restaurants in Bangalore city. The blast, which took place on March 1st, led to the arrest of Adbul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa and Mussavir Hussain Shazib from a lodge near Koltaka, states away from the crime scene. They were arrested on April 12, a little over a month after the attack.

While Taahaa was the one who planned the attack, Shazib was the one who carried out the attack by placing the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) at the location of the attack. The two men are allegedly members of the IS (Islamic State) module and had previously carried out a blast on Mangaluru, Karnataka in November 2022
