NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is a military alliance established on April 4, 1949. Its primary purpose is to insure the freedom and security of its member countries through political and military means.
NATO was originally formed by 12 countries: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
When was the conference held
President Joe Biden held a news conference during the NATO Summit in Washington, D.C., on July 11, 2024. In his address, Biden emphasized the significance of NATO’s concinnity and readiness to face ultramodern security challenges, including cyber pitfalls and the strategic competition posed by countries like Russia and China. He stressed NATO’s 75th anniversary, noting the alliance’s continued applicability and strength in promoting global security and stability.
