Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, while addressing Bihar Assembly made a comment on how educated women can control the rising population of India.
He presented a graphic description in the Bihar Assembly and commented that educated women can restrain their husbands during sexual intercourse and will play an effective role in control population which caused laughter over the issue in the Assembly and triggered other political parties and termed this as “vulgar, misogynistic and showing a patriarchal face of the society.”

Priyanka Chaturvedi and Rekha Sharma on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s comment
Now to condemn this derogatory statement made by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, NCW Chief, Rekha Sharma presented her views over the issue and posted on online platform seeking for immediate apology from CM Nitish Kumar and regarded that these cheap comments seeks to presents a dark stain on society and said that such misogynistic comments harms the dignity of every women out there.
She further presented her concern over the fact that if a public leader can make such comments so openly in society, then one cannot imagine the brutality and inequality in society under their regime and rule. She said that Nitish Kumar is a public leader with popular support from the people and such a cheap mentality will harm the opinions and minds of the people under their leadership.
In the post, Rekha Sharma asked other women leaders including Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi, AAP leader Atishi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi to come out in support of the women’s dignity and condemn such derogatory remarks made by a public leader on women and to seek apology from Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
However, while reverting back to her post, Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi mentioned that she finds Rekha Sharma’s comments over the issue politically motivated. She took to her social media handle and posted that she also condemns any such remark made on women and this is unjust and derogatory in every sense, even outside the ambit of politics.
while attacking Rekha Sharma, she said that whenever there was a need for you to take stands on many such matters, you chose to remain silent and remained very selective in voicing out your opinion which shows that Rekha Sharma did injustice to the position she holds as NCW Chief which aims to remain entirely non-biased.
At last Priyanka Chaturvedi said that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will have apologies for his words anyhow.
Over the issue in a different post, Priyanka Chaturvedi said that since Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has now apologised for his remarks and said that now she (Rekha Sharma) must speak against the person for whom she has evidence and should as the concerned authorities to take actions against him, she didn’t directly named the person to whom Priyanka Chaturvedi was referring to.
Later, Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar also issued an apology over the issue and said that he is apologetic and takes his words back.

Rabri Devi in support of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar
Rabri Devi, the former Chief Minister of Bihar taking stand in favour of Nitish Kumar said that whatever comments he made was just a mistake and he has already apologised for the same. She further added that whatever has been done must be left behind and there is no need for such an upheaval over the matter.
