The BJP in its press conference strongly hit back at the Congress party who had taken a dig at the UPS policy which was introduced. The party not only questioned the Congress on its poll promise of implementing pension policy but also appreciated the policy which was introduced by the Central Government.
The ‘U-turn’ jibe:
BJP’s press conference comes after the Supremo of Congress party had taken a dig at the implementation of the UPS policy by the Modi Government policy on Saturday. He said that the letter ‘U’ in the UPS refers to the U-turn which refers to the back-tracking which the Modi government is taking in policy issues as per him.
The press conference was led by Ravi-Shankar Prasad of BJP who countered the Congress. He hit back at the ‘U-turn’ jibe of the Supremo of the Congress party and described the PM as ‘sensitive’ when it comes to the issues of the public and the decisions are taken in considering the people’s interest after considering all the aspects.
The Senior leader and Former Union Minister of Modi Government also hit back and said that the decisions of the government isn’t impromptu while taking decisions and he also countered Kharge and said that why has the Congress party taken a U-turn on the implementation of the pension policies in the states ruled by them.
He also targeted the Senior leader of Congress party, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and said that the Pension was a raging issue in the country by the Congress party. He took a jibe at Priyanka Gandhi and said how she had made an announcement that the old pension policy will be implemented once they are back in power in Himachal Pradesh.
The senior BJP leader also targeted Rahul Gandhi, another senior leader of Congress party asking the party whether they will only make announcements or implement what they had promised. He pointed questions towards Rahul Gandhi and said he answered in particular that he will implement the old pension scheme in Himachal Pradesh. The senior leader of BJP accused Gandhi of giving false promises to the people for votes. The BJP leader also requested Gandhi from refraining from such practices.
Prasad also said that the Congress party was tired of their own falsehoods that they didn’t even include the pension in their poll manifesto. He also hit back at Gandhi and said that the country doesn’t function like this, doing governance is a serious thing where decisions have to be taken after, being impromptu doesn’t work here.
Proud of PM Modi:
Even as the BJP hit back at the criticism of the Congress party, the party hailed the decision of the Central Government and said that they are proud of PM Modi that he has listened to the concerns of the employees of the Central Government and how an important decision was made. Congress targeted the Government:
After the Modi Government made an announcement of the UPS policy on Saturday evening, the head of Congress party targeted the government and said that the letter ‘U In UPS is for U-turn of Modi Government. He said that after results on the 4th June and the people’s power has prevailed over PM Modi.
However, the BJP strongly hit back at the Congress party and said that since 2023, the UPS policy was being deliberated upon.
UPS Policy:
The Unified Pension Policy was approved by the government led by PM Modi for the employees of the Central Government on Saturday. The policy will be implemented from 1st April 2025 and would likely impact 23 lakh employees of Central Government
