According to the latest reports Blackpink has signed a non-exclusive contract with YG Entertainment. South Korean newspaper, Munhwa Ilbo reports that the group has renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment but the contracts are non-exclusive. Which suggests that Blackpink will continue working as a group but they are also free to sign up for solo projects and promotions.
After the reports got circulated, the agency reacted to this and released a statement which suggests that the agency is still in discussion with the group members and nothing is decided yet. Two out of four members have reportedly signed a non-exclusive contract.Amidst this ongoing controversy, Jennie from the group has trademarked her name, Jennie Ruby Jane and registered her name with Korea Intellectual Property Rights. The members are looking forward to more for their solo career this time.
Few reports suggest that a lot of agencies are offering the members billions of wons as down payment in order to sign up them.
