Bobbie Jean Carter Dies At 41. One Year After Brother Aaron Carter’s Death

Bobbie Jean, the sister of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and late pop singer of  Aaron Carter, died at age 41. According to People Magazine, Carter family matriarch Jane Carter said: “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean.” 

Her death comes one year after her son Aaron, who died at age 34 in November 2022 after consuming medications such as Xanax and accidentally drowning in his bathtub. She also lost her daughter, Leslie Carter, who died of an overdose at age 25 in January 2012 (Source: E! News.) Jane expresses that she will need time to process the terrible reality of a third loss in the family.

Carter is now survived by her eight-year-old daughter, Bella. Speaking to TMZ, Grandmum Jane Carter says: “However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater.” She requests the sympathetic to say a prayer for her “precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”

About Bobbie Jean Carter

Bobbie Jean was known for starring on the E! reality show House of Carters in 2006  alongside Aaron, Nick, Leslie and most of their other family members. Since then, she has stayed out of the public eye, particularly since June 2023 when she was arrested in Florida for allegedly shoplifting stickers and markers from a Hobby Lobby and for possessing a controlled substance that later tested positive for fentanyl, according to police records as reported by People Magazine.

According to TMZ, she was also involved in the music business during the height of her brothers’ careers, particularly Aaron, after he rose to fame. She worked for him as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist during his tours in the early 2000s.

While the cause of death has not been revealed, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly magazine that Bobbie Jean’s loved ones believe her cause of death is cardiac arrest. It is confirmed that she passed away Saturday morning in Florida.  

Besides her daughter Bella, the only living Carter siblings are Nick and Angel as well as half-siblings and step-siblings in the family. Bobbie Jean Carter’s mother says: “When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private.”
