PM Modi apologized for the loss due to Shivaji statue fall
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji and all those affected by the fall of the iconic ruler’s statue in Rajkot, eight months after the statue was unveiled. “When I landed here, I first apologised Shivaji for the fall of the statue. I also talked the people who were injured in the fall,” PM Modi said in Palghar, Maharashtra.
“I bow down and ask for apology those who consider Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as their god, who have suffered so much. We have different values. For us there is nothing more important than our God.
The PWD said rusted bolts and nuts were a problem with the statue’s stability, but critics said the warnings were ignored.
The opposition attacked the ruling government for demolishing the statue
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance (MVA) has accused the ruling government of corruption in the construction of the statue and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Amid huge controversy, Eknath Shinde said on Thursday that he was ready to lay his head on the feet of the Maratha hero and offer apology 100 times.
The Prime Minister also spoke against the “insulting and defaming the nation’s son ” Veer Swarkar.
“We have different values, we are not the ones who keep insulting and mocking the great son of mother India, the son of this country, Veer Swarkar. They are not like apologizing, they are ready to go to court martial”.
Mr. Gandhi is fighting. , the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, in a defamation case filed by VD Savarkar’s grandson, Satyaki Savarkar. The Congress leader is being accused of making false accusations about Hindutva during his speech in London.
Maharashtra government on restoring the loss and Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue
Ajit Pawar vows to restore Shivaji statue Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday visited the Rajkot city of Melwan where the statue fell and vowed to erect one great sign of the brave king in the same place. In an announcement on X, Pawar said that Shivaji is the pride and courage of Maharashtra. Soon, a huge statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was installed in the same place. Authority says this is my word. On Wednesday, Pawar apologized to the people of the state for the demolition of the structure built in the coastal town of Sindhdurg Melwan, about 480 km from Mumbai.
CM Shinde, in a post on ‘X’ titled the incident ‘Sad’, wrote: It is unfortunate that the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has fallen in Rajkot in Melwan taluka of Sindhdurg district. A special meeting was held last year at the government headquarters to determine the causes of this incident and discuss the details. In this meeting, it was decided to form a joint technical committee comprising civil engineers, experts from IIT universities and naval officials to investigate the accident. The committee must investigate the incident and determine responsibility.
