Shimla Rampur Cloud Burst: According to Shimla district disaster management, the authorities have responded to a cloud burst incident. The Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, and Superintendent of Police for Shimla, Sanjeev Gandhi, have been mobilized to the site. The initial reports are that 19 people have gone missing after the disaster.

Missing include seven persons of Shimla district, who reportedly washed away at Bagipul near Nirmand. Body parts of two persons were recovered, and their death has been confirmed by the SP of Shimla.

Anupam Kashyap, DC, said, “As soon as the information regarding the incident was received, teams of NDRF, police, and rescue squads were dispatched immediately to the scene.”. He said that according to the information received, people are being reported missing from the cloudburst-affected areas. SDM Rampur, Nishant Tomar has also reached the spot. As the roads were closed at many points, so rescue teams had to walk for about two kilometers on foot with equipment to reach the spot.
Their combined effort is an integral part in time-bound response and mitigation of the situation. They are relentlessly involved in the search of missing people and providing necessary assistance to the victims following some unfortunate incidents in Rampur, Shimla district.
DC Anupam Kashyap launched relief operations immediately. He said teams from ITBP and Special Home Guard units have also been inducted into rescue operations. He said all rescue teams are working together in coordination. All necessary facilities including ambulances have been inducted into the rescue operations.
He further said that a committee under the chairmanship of an additional district magistrate has been constituted consisting of police, Home Guard, fire brigade, and other departments including Sunni Dam management; a list of 32 missing persons has been prepared till now.
