It is not a serious issue but it causes discomfort among patients. However, individuals suffering from this condition face fecal incontinence or pooping difficulties. Nevertheless, in the case of this old man, the abdominal surgery played a role in colon prolapse.

It is of two types normally internal and external. The internal prolapse occurs when the rectum drops partway into the anus. In the external prolapse, the entire colon falls out. If prolapse is left untreated it worsens over time so it is necessary to seek medical advise.

Significance of seeking early medical attention

As in the case of man, early diagnosis and treatment led to full recovery. While the incident may sound unusual it highlights the importance of seeking instant medical attention. This is a rare case but it is essential to note that organ prolapse does not happen among individuals with strong abdominal walls.
