Congress leads in Punjab Lok Sabha; BJP out of the game

Congress is dominating the seats of Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Punjab, whereas BJP does not seem to open its account this time. The counting of the votes for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is still in progress in Punjab. There are a total of 13 seats available. Punjab had its elections all at once on June 1.

The Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab include Amritsar, Anandpur Sahib, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Khadoor Sahib, Ludhiana, Patiala and Sangrur.

The results are being calculated as the counting of votes is still continuing. Indian National Congress (INC) has already won 5 seats and is leading on 2 more. Aam Aadmi Party won 1 seat yet and is leading on 2 more seats. Shiromani Akali Dal- SAD has attained 1 seat and Independent-IND has not yet won any seat but is leading on 2 seats.

BJP could not secure even a single seat

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet opened the account of attaining a seat. This party has neither achieved a single seat in Punjab nor is leading on any seat. It is totally out of the picture in Punjab Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Congress won in Fatehgarh Sahib

Congress representative Amar Singh won from the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency with a total of 3,32,591 received votes. He beat AAP’s Gurpreet Singh GP by 34,202 votes, as per the Election Commission.

Congress attained the lead in Jalandhar

Charanjit Singh Channi, the ex-Punjab CM and Congress leader, secured victory in the Jalandhar area with a lead of 175993 votes. He received a total of 390053 votes. Sushil Kumar Rinku from the BJP came in second with 214060 votes.

Aam Aadmi Party won in Sangrur

Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer from AAP emerged as the victor in Punjab’s Sangrur area. Hayer secured a total of 3,64,085 votes and won by a margin of 1,72,560 votes. He won against Congress’ Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who received 1,91,525 votes. Simranjit Singh Mann from SAD (A) came third with 1,87,246 votes.

Congress in Amritsar

Gurjeet Singh Aujla from Indian National Congress won on a margin of 40301 votes against Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal from Aam Aadmi Party in Amritsar. Gurjeet Singh secured a total of 255181 votes whereas Kuldeep Singh could attain 214880 votes. Taranjit Singh Sandhu from Bharatiya Janata Party came third with 207205 votes.

Congress won in Patiala

Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi from Congress has been declared the winning candidate in Patiala, Punjab, with a margin of 14831 votes. He secured 305616 total votes. Dr. Balbir Singh from AAP lost by receiving a total of 290785 votes.

Firozpur Report

Sher Singh Ghubaya from Congress won in the Firozpur area. He has received a total of 266626 votes against Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar from Aam Aadmi Party with a margin of 3242 votes. Gurmit Singh Sodhi came third by receiving 255097 votes.

Shiromani Akali Dal won in Bathinda

Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Shiromani Akali Dal has attained victory in Amritsar with a margin of 49656 votes. She got 376558 voters in her favour. Gurmeet Singh Khudian from Aam Aadmi Party received 326902 votes and lost.

Anandpur Sahib Votes Counting

Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Malvinder Singh Kang is leading from Anandpur Sahib with a margin of 10827 votes and a total of 312241 secured votes.

Faridkot Voting

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa is leading in Faridkot with total attained votes as 296922 and a margin of 70246.

Gurdaspur Leading candidate

The leading candidate in Gurdaspur is Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa from Indian National Congress. He has secured 361713 votes till now and is winning on a gap of 83012 votes.

Hoshiarpur Report

Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal from Aam Aadmi Party is the leading candidate in Hoshiarpur with a margin of 44111 votes and 303859 achieved votes till now.

Khadoor Sahib leading candidate

Amritpal Singh is leading in Khadoor Sahib with 395186 votes received till now and a gap of 191176 votes.

Ludhiana Report

The leading candidate is Amrinder Singh Raja Warring from Ludhiana. He is ahead with a margin of 25229 votes and has received a total of 314032 votes yet.
