Delhi Pollution News: A thick poisonous haze or ‘gauze’ continued to hang heavy over the public capital as the overall air quality stood at 395 at 930 on 8 November as per SAFAR data. numerous areas of Delhi also witnessed AQI in the ‘severe order’, as per the Central Pollution Control Board(CPCB). AQI stood at 451 in Rohini, 439 in Patparganj, 434 in RK Puram, 415 in ITO and as per CPCB data. According to statistics, the air quality in Delhi’s Anand Vihar witnessed AQI approaching 1000. 

Delhi Pollution top 10 updates- 

 1. According to the data from aqicn.org, Anand Vihar has recorded its worst air quality with an AQI of 999. According to AQICN data, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, an AQI between 51 and 100 is considered ‘good’. For sensitive groups ‘moderate’, 101 and 150 ‘unhealthy’, 151 to 200 ‘unhealthy’, 201-300 ‘really unhealthy’ and above 300 ‘dangerous’. 

2. According to AQICN data, AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, between 51 and 100 ‘moderate’, between 101 and 150 ‘unhealthy’, between 151 and 200 ‘unhealthy’ for sensitive groups. 201-300′ is considered ‘really unhealthy’. And above 300 is ‘dangerous’.

 3. It also showed that piecemeal from Anand Vihar, other areas in the public capital including Jahangirpuri, Wazirpur, Bawana, Mundka witnessed AQI above 700 all in breathing ‘ dangerous ’ air. The air quality in Jahangirpuri was recorded at 775, AQI was recorded at 776 in Wazirpur, AQI was recorded at 754 in Bawana and AQI was recorded at 792 in Mundka.

 4. The ‘ dangerous ’ air situation in the public capital also forced the Commission for Air Quality Management( CAQM) to bring Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan( GRAP) in the entire National Capital Region( NCR) with immediate effect to help further deterioration of air quality. 

DELHI POLLUTION AT ITS WORSE.

5. On November 7, the Supreme Court had also directed the Punjab government to stop the practice of stubble burning to tackle the problem of air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. The court noted that constant political controversies shouldn’t hamper necessary conduct to combat the problem. The apex court also directed the states of Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to stop stubble burning “ forthwith”. 

 6. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai had also said that the Odd- Indeed scheme in Delhi from 13- 20 November to check pollution. Some reports citing rainfall officers have also stated with the movement of western disturbances, the air quality might ameliorate in the coming days.

 7. At the moment, Rai has also called a critical meeting to bandy the perpetration of the Supreme Court compliances on the odd-even auto allowing scheme in the public capital, which will be executed from November 13 to November 20. 

 8.Amid the high pollution situation in the public capital, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri met Claudius da Costa Gomez, CEO of the German Biogas Association in Berlin and said they tried to find a result to stubble burning as Germany is a world leader in producing biogas from parali( stubble). He further said that the stubble can be used to produce biogas, a process in which Germany is a world leader.

An estimated 352 metric tons of stubble is produced every time in India. Of this, 22 percent comes from wheat crops and 34 percent comes from rice. About 84 metric tonnes (23.86 percent) of this stubble is burnt uncontrolled in the field after harvest every year. Using it for biogas would be a no-brainer!” The Union Minister posted on Twitter

 9. Air pollution situations can be high during the downtime months for a number of reasons, including dust and vehicular pollution, dry-cold rainfall, stubble burning, burning crop remainders after the crop season, and exchanging. 

 10. Croakers and health experts explained the dangerous impact of air pollution on the overall health of the mortal body. Speaking to news agency ANI, Dr Piyush Ranjan( fresh Professor, Department of Medicine, AIIMS), said that there’s scientific substantiation that establishes a relationship between air pollution and different types of cancer. He also said that piecemeal from causing detriment to the respiratory system, air pollution has direct relations with coronary roadway conditions like heart attack, brain stroke, and arthritis.
