Kiara Advani has been roped in to play the female lead in the much-anticipated Don 3, opposite Ranveer Singh in the male lead, also featuring Priyanka Chopra.
After a long wait, Farhan Akhtar has officially announced the female lead for Don 3. Kiara Advani is all set to play the main role alongside Ranveer Singh in the upcoming movie Don 3. Farhan welcomed the actress on board via posting a video on X.
Fans have already been buzzing with excitement, eagerly awaiting the sizzling chemistry between Kiara and Ranveer. Kiara Advani, praised for her versatility and captivating performances, is ready to ignite the Don universe with her action-packed portrayal.
Directed and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Don 3 promises to deliver yet another adrenaline-fueled instalment to the franchise, setting the stage for a legendary cinematic experience. Also, co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, known for his track record of weaving exceptional projects that delight the fans, anticipation runs high for what promises to be another masterpiece for the highly acclaimed instalment of the celebrated franchise.
Earlier, Farhan had confirmed that the shooting for Don 3 will not begin until 2025. Last year, the director surprised fans by releasing a teaser for Don 3 in which Akhtar finally revealed that Ranveer Singh would be taking on the iconic role of the new Don. In the teaser, Ranveer could be seen sitting in a building with his back to the camera. Next, he lights up a cigarette, introduces himself as Don, and then turns to face the camera. Previous versions of the character were portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
After Priyanka Chopra’s performance as Roma Bhagat, it is now Kiara Advani’s turn to glam up the underworld as she is cast for the upcoming actioner Don 3.
Set to the franchise’s trademark background score, the video launches Kiara’s entry into the Don universe. The movie franchise debuted in 1978 with Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman in the lead roles. Later, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra featured in the sequels in 2006 and 2011. Don 3, the franchise’s fourth official instalment, sees Ranveer Singh replacing Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead and Kiara joining in as the female lead.
The actress was last seen opposite Kartik Aaryan in Sameer Vidwans’s romantic drama movie titled Satyaprem Ki Katha. Apart from being in S. Shankar’s Game Changer alongside Ram Charan, Kiara will also be joining the YRF Spy Universe in the action sequel War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan who will be reprising his role.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh will reprise his role as ACP Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, a sequel to the 2014 action-thriller Singham Returns.
Don 3: More about the franchise
As much as fans are thrilled about the news, an official announcement for the remaining cast of the movie still remains a mystery. The Don franchise has always been associated with intriguing stories, adrenaline-packed action, and thrilling moments. Don (2006) featured Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. The film went on to win the Best Asian Film at the Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival. Later, its hit sequel was released in 2011 that garnered more fans and received multiple accolades. Hrithik Roshan made a special appearance, marking his cameo as Don in another disguise.
