New York prosecutors have launched a trial against former president of US Donald Trump revealing new details about the hush- money case on monday. Prosecutors said Donald Trump corrupted and influenced the 2016 election by breaking the law and paid hush- money to porn star to cover up the coitus reproach. In defense Trump’s attorneys said the money was paid to porn star to cover his reputation.
Donald Trump has been charged with 34 felonies for falsifying the business records of$ 130,000 which he paid to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 for not telling the sexual encounters they had 10 years ago.
Also testifying on the first day of the trial execution’s first witness, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, who allegedly shared in a catch- and- kill scheme designed to bury unsavory stories about Trump to get him elected in the election of 2016.
Trump has denied all the charges against him and contended not guilty. Prosecutors have described the payment made by Trump to porn star as a felonious offense. Which he has committed to cheat his voters to suppress the allegations about unpleasant sexual behavior he was facing.
It was an election fraud, pure and simple
Prosecutor Matthew Colangelo said” This was a planned, coordinated and long- term conspiracy to impact the 2016 election to help Donald Trump get elected by using illegal spending to silence people who had something bad to say about him.”
” It was an election fraud, pure and simple”, Colangelo told the jury while presenting the recording of conversations and testimony of witnesses as evidence of Trump planning this whole scheme.
There is nothing wrong with trying to impact an election
Whereas, in defense, Trump’s lawyers told the jury that he has not committed any crime and he’s innocent and also said that this case should haven’t been brought to court.
Likewise, Trump lawyer Todd Blanche said” it is what we call a democracy and there’s nothing wrong with impacting the election. They put this idea as a scam and frame it as if it’s a crime.”
I am the leading candidate: Donald Trump
The hush- money fraud case trial is said to last up to two months and it’ll bear the former present and the favorite candidate of the Republican for presidential run Donald Trump to be present in the courtroom. These trials are keeping Trump off the election trail.
After the trial on Monday while talking to journalists Trump said,” I am the leading candidate and that is why they are trying to get me out of the way. Attorneys are being paid for this.”
Guilty verdict would not help Trump from running for presidential again, but because this is a state case rather than a civil one, he’d not be eligible for an amnesty. The former president of the United States is also facing separate complaints for allegedly conspiring to capsize Biden’s palm in the 2020 election and for keeping secret documents at his Florida manse, Mar-a-Lago, both of which he denies. While those cases have been over and over laid over because of difficulties by his legal group, the New York hush money case has up to this point run on time.
Even the poll conducted regarding the upcoming elections in the US by Reuters this month shows that 24 percent of Republican voters would not cast a vote for Trump if he was found guilty for this felony. Another poll conducted by Economist shows that 43 percent people believe that Trump has committed this fraud whereas, 37 percent believe that Trump has not committed this crime.
