Rising political violence in US

The video clips of the shooting on a former President and running candidate for the elections horrifies the whole country with many Americans fearing it to be the presage of a rising trend of political violence in the US.

It took the lives of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy. At those times most political violence came from the Left and in recent years research shows it has overwhelmingly come from the Right (Reuters analysis)

They tried to overturn the 2020 Election results, a majority of Americans believe that it was an attack on democracy.

When polarizing figures attempt to normalize violence as a political tool it needs to be stopped since it only spreads across the spectrum and can create retaliatory cycles.
