During this winter where coronavirus has brought back, these super foods can keep our health boosted and immune to fight against the virus.

During winter we suffered from viral fever, sore throats, coughs and many other illness. But if we consume these superfoods during winter it will help us to increase our immune system and keep us healthy.

Ghee

According to Ayurveda, ghee is considered as one of the most digestive fats than others. It increases and generates the fat in our body which keeps us warm and gives us energy and immunity. Besides that during winter our skin becomes dull but ghee keeps our skin nourished. We can have ghee through rice, roti, vegetable sabji or something else.

Broccoli 

Every green vegetable is good for our eyes. Broccoli is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, Iron, magnesium, potassium etc. It helps us to keep us nutrients and increase our immunity. We can saute or boil it and mix with vegetables, gravy, pasta etc.

Ginger and Garlic

Ginger contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which keeps us boosted to fight against the virus and reduce inflammation. And garlic contains allicin, which also keeps us boosted. Indians put ginger garlic paste mostly sabjis, besides that tea can be made of ginger which makes it more flavorful.

Spinach

Green vegetables have various advantages to consume, they can make our eyesight well and also it is a powerhouse of nutrients which keeps us immune. Spinach contains various antioxidants with vitamin A and vitamin C. Spinach is a healthy vegetable which can be used in various sabji or health drinks.

Amla

As a seasonal fruit amla has vitamin C which can help us to keep a distance with infections. As amla is sour in taste we can make murabba, pickle, chutney, juice, candies over it.

Jaggery 

Jaggery is rich in iron which is good for anaemia. Jaggery is a good alternative substitute of sugar, diabetic patients can use it instead of sugar. It can also enhance the iron level and oxygen density in our bodies. We can use jaggery in various dishes such as porridge, chutney etc.

Nuts and Seeds

Nuts and seeds are available every month, and WHO ( World Health Organization )also advised to have nuts and seeds everyday. Those nuts and seeds are full of vitamin E, antioxidants, magnesium which can keep our body warm to fight against the virus, control sugar level, cholesterol etc. Nuts and seeds can be consumed raw or sometimes in cakes or cookies.

Root Vegetables

Root vegetables such as sweet potatoes, turnip, beetroot, carrots contain fibre, beta carotene, vitamin B, potassium, magnesium etc. These seasonal vegetables are always good for health, they keep us nourished and work as an immunity booster. We can consume this by baking them or fry them, make curry with it etc.

Dates are a good resource of vitamins, minerals, calcium which resolves bone related issues. As it contains a natural sweetness so that diabetics can also consume it. We can make various desserts with it.

Yoghurt carries the features of probiotics, this probiotics makes our gut microbiome strong, which supports our immunity system during winter. We can have yoghurt raw or mixed with some veggies and make any other side dish using this.

Honey

Honey used as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial agent. It is used in winter very much, it can works as a medicine in case of sore throats, coughs and also used to treat burn areas. We can consume honey raw or to make something ssweet.

During winter our immune system get disbalanced and skin became dull but if we consume this superfoods it winter it can help us to prevent many diseases. Also a new sub-variant of Covid-19; JN.1 is back with a new fear factor, and if we want to survive we need to gain immunity and boosted it up. Except these superfoods there are many superfoods we can consume during winter such as lemon, milk, chicken, green vegetables etc.
