Emma Chamberlain and Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, ended their three-year relationship in October. In a recent interview, the 22-year-old YouTuber discussed what it’s like to be single during GQ’s ‘Men of the Year’ event on November 16, 2023. Here is all the information we know about the couple’s breakup, although they largely kept their relationship quiet.
In 2020, Emma and Role Model began dating. Tucker, 26, disclosed in a February 2023 interview with GQ that he had DM’d the YouTuber. The musician acknowledged that he had developed feelings for her after watching one of her TikTok videos, but they didn’t actually meet until they began texting in March 2020. The couple disclosed that during their first date, they didn’t kiss but instead ate pizza and played Fortnite.
The couple hard launched in that profile and kept their relationship very private. Tucker told GQ, “We have a very simple, unproblematic, safe, private—when we want to be private kind of relationship.”
As previously noted, the couple kept their romance very private, but during the interview, they spoke at length about each other. Role Model remarked of Emma, that she was his first romantic partner. He said that he has always disliked relationships. He said, adding that he had never imagined himself “truly being in love” or being able to “take care of someone.” He further added that he never thought that he would have someone that feels like a best friend and wants to sleep with them. It’s similar to being able to go out with one’s best friend. He funnily said that his guys back home won’t let him do that, so he can not possibly do that.
Emma appeared in the singer’s “never let you go” music video as well, which he revealed was influenced by her. Emma has also discussed her reasons for wanting to keep their relationship a secret. She mentioned that she holds certain aspects of their relationship in high regard and will always remain private. But they don’t need to be secret anymore, she remarked.
The two discussed juggling their dating lives with their solo careers, with Pillsbury observing that they are just trying to be professional within their own careers.
