Jeffery Epstein’s lawsuit details are made public and a slew of Hollywood celebrities are mentioned in the court documents. The 900-page documents that are finally made public in the lawsuit, have a list of celebrities mentioned in the documents, while the nature of their role varies, not all the mentioned celebrities are associated with Epstein and his human trafficking ring, the names included do not signify any misdoings on their parts.
On Wednesday, more than 900 pages of the court-sealed documents were made public and accessible to the people, and the names of the Hollywood celebrities in the documents definitely shocked many. The civil lawsuit was filed against Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre, a victim of their human trafficking ring. And shocking everyone this list consisted of 150 high-profile celebrity names including Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Jackson, Cate Blanchett and even Naomi Campbell amongst many others.
These documents uncovered the names of people associated with Epstein his human trafficking ring and his various connections. Epstein was convicted of charges of sex trafficking and before he could be taken to trial he committed suicide in his prison cell and was later found in the same position.
And while it is crucial to understand while these documents mention the names of various public figures and celebrities they do not hint at their involvement in the case, the names of Dicaprio, Blanchett, Lucas and some others are merely mentioned in passing and are not implying their association with Epstein and his criminal actions. In the documents, one victim claimed that Epstein would be on the phone a lot talking to and about many famous people and he would mention the names of the above-mentioned celebrities in passing as his acquaintances.
The same victim also testified that they have not met DiCaprio indicating the lack of involvement of the Oscar winners part. Naomi Campbell was in both the transcripts and also a video when a victim mentioned her in an incident involving giving an unidentified man an erotic massage and sexual intercourse, the timeline of this incident was described as “Naomi celebrating her birthday party at a French hotel with Epstein and Maxwell both being in attendance”. Additionally, another victim had testified on meeting Michael Jackson but denying giving the singer a massage was mentioned in the transcript.
There were other celebrities also mentioned in the court documents with names including Cameron Diaz, George Lucas, Kevin Spacey and Bruce Willis amongst the aforementioned actors.
In one of the documents a victim Johanna Sjoberg’s account where she was questioned regarding various high profile encounters she had, she denied being forced into massaging notable personalities like former President Donald Trump or George Lucas. These newly unsealed documents left the people wondering about the reach and access that Epstein had and also questioned the nature of the celebrities’ involvement with the criminal.
While the majority of the court documents are made public, some of them still remain undisclosed in order to protect the identities of the more vulnerable victims in the case, mainly underage victims.
While none of the high-profile celebrities mentioned in the documents have been charged with any criminal charges as of now. In 2021, Maxwell was convicted of exploiting and trafficking underage girls and received a 20-year prison sentence that she immediately appealed against.
