Fenesta 29th Open: Vishnu Vardhan and Rashmikaa to lead

The 29th edition of the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship will take place from September 28 to October 12 at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi. This year’s tournament lineup will see top Indian tennis players, including multiple Asian Games medallist Vishnu Vardhan, defending champion Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty, and top seed Prajwal Dev. 

India’s largest domestic tennis tournament, the Fenesta Open, organized under the aegis of the All-India Tennis Association (AITA) and Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA), will feature exciting talents from across the nation competing for the coveted titles, according to a release. As the only national championship featuring a full-group format this event includes categories for Men and Women, alongside U-18, U16, and U-14 competitions for both boys and girls.

Prajwal Dev, Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty, to headline the event

As the top seed in the men’s singles, Prajwal Dev will enter the event as the top seed in the men’s singles event. Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty set to defend her title in the women’s singles category. The tournament will also feature top players like Vishnu Vardhan and Riya Bhatia. Over the years, the tournament has witnessed the participation of India’s leading tennis players, including Rohan Bopanna, Somdev Devvarman, Yuki Bhambri, Sania Mirza and Rutuja Bhosale.

“We are excited to announce the 29th edition of the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship. The organisation is dedicated to fostering the growth of Indian tennis and providing opportunities for the nation’s talent through this tournament. Over the years we’ve seen many players build successful careers as a result, highlighting the tournament’s increasing prominence. I wish all the players the best of luck and encourage them to fully seize the opportunity to showcase their skills,” said Ajay S Shriram, Chairman and Senior Managing Director, DCM Shriram Ltd, according to a release.

“This year, under the auspices of the DCM Shriram Foundation, the philanthropic arm of DCM Shriram Ltd, we are excited to announce a tennis scholarship of Rs25,000 each for the winners and runners-up in the U16 and U14 Single events, aimed at supporting emerging talent,” he added.

Fenesta Open: Two weeks Tennis Action 

The first week of the tournament will feature Men, Women, U-18 Boys, and U-18 Girls in singles and doubles event. The qualifying rounds will be held on September 28 and 29, while the main draw is scheduled for September 30 to October 5. The Under-16 and Under-14 category matches will take place from October 6 to October 12. 

DCM Shriram Ltd. has been supporting the growth of Indian Tennis since it first organized the Tennis Championship of Delhi State in 1992. Through the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, the company provides a platform to emerging tennis players to showcase their skills in the championship. Along with the coveted titles, winners will be awarded with prize money with a total prize pool of over 21.55 Lakh, along with a kit allowance for junior category participants.
