The Bollywood star, Bengali actress Sharmila Tagore appeared in a famous TV show Koffee with Karan along with her son; where she disclosed that she is fighting against a deadly disease cancer.

Fighting Against a Disease: Sharmila Revealed 

Sharmila Tagore, The versatile actress of Bollywood loves to break the table either in her personal life or all exemplary decisions in the professional field. However, she kept the narrative of a big fight in life fighting against Cancer.

Recently, this Bengali actress was a guest on Koffee with Karan along with her son Saif Ali Khan which telecasted on Disney+Hotstar. The topic of Sharmila’s cancer came up during their conversation. Director Karan Johar said he wanted Sharmila to play Alia Bhatt’s grandmother in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. However, Sharmila rejected Karan’s proposal. Instead, the character went to Shabana Azmi. Sharmila said that when she was offered the role, the covid panic peaked. The actress was not vaccinated yet. After that, Sharmila said, “After my cancer, no one wanted me to take this risk.”

suddenly Sharmila is fighting against cancer topic came up during the chat. However, the versatile actress did not reveal much about the difficult chapter of her life. Stopped by saying this. Back Story of Sharmila Tagore

Sharmila Tagore, who was launched by iconic filmmaker Satyajit Ray in the 1959 Bengali film Apur Sansar. In 1964 She debuted in her first Bollywood film Kashmir Ki Kali. She has acted in many successful Bollywood films like Aradhana, Chupke Chupke, Amar Prem.

In 1969 this new beginner of bollywood industry Sharmila Tagore married legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The couple has two children. Gave birth to actor Saif Ali Khan in 1970, daughter Saba in 1976, a jewellery designer by profession and actress-writer Soha Ali Khan in 1978. Mansoor Ali Khan died of lung infection in 2011 at the age of 70.

After fighting a big battle now she is also working part-time. Good news for Bengali fans. This popular Bengali actress is returning to Bengali films after 14 years with Suman Ghosh’s ‘Puratan’. The shooting is already over. Sharmila Tagore will play the role as mother of famous actress of tollywood industry Rituparna Sengupta. Indranil Sengupta will be seen as Rituparna Sengupta’s husband and Sharmila Tagore’s son-in-law.

Koffee with Karan: Why Sharmila Tagore got Emotional 

In Karan Johar’s koffee with Karan show, Sharmila said that she was very distressed after hearing about her son’s marriage with Amrita. And there was a conversation that arose about his first wife, Bollywood actress Amrita Singh. Then she told the story of their marriage.

Saif Ali Khan already had a family before starting his career in his debut as an actor in Bollywood. Saif married actress Amrita at the age of 21. Amrita was 33 at that time. They tied the knot in 1991. Saif-Amrita got divorced in 2004 after almost a decade and a half of marriage.

“My mother called me and said, ‘We know something is going on,’ so I told the whole story,” said Saif. “My mother said to me, ‘Okay, just don’t get married’.” Then I was informed that yesterday I got married. Recalling that time, Saif said that Sharmila had tears in her eyes after hearing his words. Sharmila later said that neither she nor Saif’s father ever thought that their son would get married without telling them!

Though a lots of challenges and difficulties, Sharmila Tagore fighting with many situations overcoming this disease. Audience gave much love and prayers for her.
